New To Reiki?
If you are new to the practice of Reiki, sometimes it's challenging to know where to begin.
Reiki is a completely non-invasive, Japanese healing practice that helps move the body, mind and spirit towards balance and wellness. It's generally facilitated through gentle touch and performed on a massage table. A typical session lasts anywhere from 30-60 minutes and gives attention to the whole body.
Reiki practitioners create an opportunity for you to balance yourself. Think of a guitar or any other stringed instrument that can get out of tune. A person can tune the instrument so the strings are in harmony once again. With Reiki, however, the practitioner doesn't do the 'tuning.' During the session the practitioner serves as a catalyst for you to tune yourself. Naturally, through the course of the treatment, through their touch, you resonate towards your own healing vibration. The practitioner is more a conduit than anything else.
Reiki treatments are an opportunity for you to tune in to your own sense of balance. Many people experience treatments as way to relax, release, rejuvenate, and renew the mind, body and spirit. Many people say that Reiki gives them a way to re-connect with the deepest part of themselves, or something bigger. Reiki treatments are not religious or dogmatic, and the practitioner will never tell you what you should do or feel. They won't diagnose you or tell you what your problem is. A practitioner will provide the treatment, allowing you to experience the sense of balance that ensues.
